"This is Autism" Flashblog

Last Monday, Autism Speaks told the world that autism is:

 . . . living in despair

 . . . fear of the future

 . . .exhausted, broken parents

. . . lost, helpless, burdensome children

. . .  a national emergency

If that's not what autism is to you, join us on Monday November 18th for the "This is Autism" flashblog.

What is it?

A flashblog is a day when a group of people share their thoughts about a single topic. You can post something on your own blog and let us know about it or you can submit your contribution here and we'll post it for you. Then we'll share everyone's posts throughout the day on Monday, here and across the web using Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr to get the word out.

What Should I Submit?

Tell us what "This is Autism" means to you. You can write a paragraph or a blog post, contribute a poem or a video, make a comic or a graphic. Use your imagination. Let's tell the world what autism is in the words and works of autistic people and those who love and support them.

Who Can Participate?

Everyone! The flashblog is open to autistic individuals as well as parents, family members and allies of autistic people.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, shared, signal boosted and cheered us on!

** Special thanks to Alyssa at Because Patterns for the Tumblr/Twitter avatar.

    2. This is a great article Amy! I didn't see where she wrote that 3 million largely can't take care of themselves. Talk about distortion! While I may have a lot of deficits and oddities, and don't do social things well, and am very clumsy, I just looked at my EMR yesterday (my hospital gave me my login details finally) and it states "Activities of daily living: Self". So it took a lot of effort on my parents part and my own to make that happen, but I'm hardly dependent on others for basic care!

      Sigh.

  22. Hello friends i am Elisabeth Bailey from Midland tx,My 15-year old son with autism. My son is verbal, followed normal education with help from me,his issues : shyness, constipation, concentration problems, problems with maturity, practically no friends because interaction with people is difficult, parasite, yeast on him, acne, kind of dandruff on top of his head. Since the age of 6, we have been trying a lot of natural supplements, hospitals med and i have wasted a lot of money trying to make him live freely without being intimidated by friends in the neighborhood also to get him better and more focused on school matters and his general health. Nothing ever seems to pull through not even his wellness until one day, i decided to check internet for help then i came across a herbal woman (Mama Kofi herbal) who cured a lady 12 years old son called (Mama Kofi herbal) and has also helped a lot of women to cure their children's Autism. quickly i contacted her email: ( mamakofiherbal@yahoocom ),just to give him a test,i spoke to him he asked me to purchase his Autism roots herbs and seed oil which i did, he promised to send it as soon as purchased and thereafter i received it and start to use the Autism herbal med immediately on him for only two weeks instructed by (Mama Kofi herbal). it was unbelievable after 21 days i was surprised,my son totally cured and free from Autism disgrace and embarrassment. There was so much improvement. He seems to get more awareness, gives more interaction at home, mingo with friends that never wanted him close. Today i am here to spread the good news of my son health on how (Mama Kofi herbal) saved him from the nightmare and outbreaks of Autism. You can contact (Mama Kofi herbal) via email: ( mamakofiherbal@yahoocom or whats-app +1-518-351-9658 ) if you are still in my past situation...I guarantee you, your Autism child is going to be healed and feel alive again just as mine right now.

  23. Dr Williams, his medicine was extremely helpful to my daughter. I have had a daughter with autism for 3 years now , and my doctor have prescribe me with different kinds of drugs without no improvement in my daughter symptoms . I am so glad I have found Dr Williams medicine (as I was surfing the net for a solution and saw a recommendation for it on a women's health forum early this year). I have felt so empowered by the knowledge you have given me and I quickly self diagnosed the individual cause of my daughter autism and armed with your clear instructions, I was finally able to beat this monster, in less than 4 weeks of using dr Williams medication on my daughter. I went for a checkup and it was clear that my daughter autism were gone, you can also email him on drwilliams098675@gmail.com for help.

Thank you, thank you , thank you. dr williams "
